A Father to the Fatherless...

photo taken from avoiceforhischildren.blogspot.com

Recently I've been very burdened for orphans, especially those in China.  I've spent quite a bit of time in the Word, praying for orphans and praying for opportunities to share the love of Christ with them.  Here is some scripture I have been praying through:

James 1:27 - Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

John 14:18 - I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

Matthew 25:35-40 - For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Micah 6:8 - He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Psalm 68:5 - A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

Please join me in praying for the sweet children in China, and pray that God will open doors for me to love on them and reflect Christ to them.
